The current Maryland flag is confederate. The white and red rectangles on it were flown by the confederacy. That part of the flag is racist. But you know what isn’t racist? Blue crabs. Maryland has immense pride in two things. Our flag and our crabs. Crabs are perfect in every way. They have evolved multiple times because crabs are just that perfect! Crabs aren’t particularly smart, so they can’t hate people. Crabs don’t care who you are, unlike racists. Crabs are just funky little dudes. They also live in the ocean, so they couldn’t have been part of the confederacy. And blue is even a union color. Crabs are basically perfect. Even if you don’t like eating them, they’re still undeniably adorable. And they have little claws to pinch racists! Flags can be racist. Crabs can’t. Let’s make the Maryland flag a crab!
