According to the Humane Society of the United States, hundreds of thousands of calves raised for veal are confined in individual crates too narrow for them to even turn around. Tethered by their necks [rope, chains, bars] to further restrict their movement, their virtually immobilized for their entire 16 week long lives.  Even the CEO of Strauss Veal (the nation's largest veal producer) calls veal crates "inhumane and archaic" and says they "do nothing more than subject a calf to stress, fear, and physical harm and pain" (as cited by The Humane Society of the United States). Other states such as Arizona, California, Colorado, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Ohio, and Rhode Island have passed regulations banning such veal crates. Please help put an end to the use of these cruel crates in the state of Wisconsin as other states have already done!  For more information on this issue, please visit the Humane Society.org .
