Dear supporters, On Friday, August 18th, California's Governor Jerry Brown commuted Liz's Life Without Parole sentence to a 25-years-to-life sentence! In his press release about his decision, Governor Brown cited Liz's "significant support in the community" and mentioned the nearly 7,000 signatures on this petition. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting Liz's chance at freedom. She will likely go for her first Board of Parole Hearing late this year and we hope will be released on parole in 2018! After 22 years in prison with a sentence that denied her a chance at freedom, Liz now has that chance. She wanted to pass on this short message: I am so grateful and full of joy...Your support helped me get a second chance...Thank you, thank you, thank you. With gratitude and hope, Liz, Heidi and Adrienne www.womenprisoners.org / www.alivingchance.com
