As anyone who has seen Avenger: Age of Ultron knows the character of Pietro Maximoff a.k.a. Quicksilver was abruptly killed towards the end of the film while protecting fellow Avenger Hawkeye and a child civilian from the film's villain Ultron.  While Quicksilver's sacrifice gave the situation dramatic heft it also robbed the Marvel Cinematic Universe of a very cool character.  Please sign my petition to let Marvel Entertainment know fans think Quicksilver should be brought back as a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The decision to kill the character of Quicksilver was made by Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon. Whedon stated in an interview with Empire Online that he decided to kill one of the Twins because he believed killing a young character would be more striking, and he chose Quicksilver because he didn't want to kill the only other female superhero in the movie. He also regretted retroactively reviving the character of Phil Coulson (who was killed in The Avengers) as it devalued his death in "The Avengers", and because of this wants Quicksilver's death to be permanent. These are not very compelling reasons for permanently killing off an interesting new character that could have played a bigger part in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. 

Joss Whedon is no longer a creative force at Marvel and therefore has no legitimate say as to the potential future of the character of Quicksilver.  Those who do have a say at Marvel Entertainment (such as Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter) have the power to change the situation and bring the character back in future films.  By letting Marvel Entertainment know that a great number of fans would prefer to have the character back than remain permanently dead these individuals would be more likely to make that change.

The character of Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver has been a favorite of mine long before the existence Marvel Cinematic Universe.  Unfortunately he did not have a great deal of mainstream exposure prior to the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, and likewise did not make as many appearances in Marvel television shows, video games, merchandise, etc. as other Marvel characters.  My hope is that because of his rise popularity following his inclusion in Avengers: Age of Ultron Marvel will be more willing to include him in media outside of comics however his being dead and remaining that way in the popular film universe would likely lessen the chances of such appearances.

If we do manage to convince Marvel Entertainment to bring back Quicksilver we will not only be getting back an awesome character to watch in future Marvel Cinematic Universe films, but also increase the chances of said awesome character to appearing in future Marvel products.
