In most of the Avengers films it feels like Hawkeye is just left in the dirt, which is a shame because he's a fantastic character in the comics.

My solution isn't that Marvel make a Hawkeye movie, but rather a Hawkeye TV series (preferably on Netflix) it will give Marvel time to develop the character further and make him a lot more fleshed out.

The comic that fans seem to want to see most, is the Matt Fraction run of Hawkeye in Marvel Now, which sets Barton and his sidekick Kate Bishop (who fans wish to be portrayed by Aubrey Plaza) on various S.H.I.E.L.D. missions.

I personally feel that this could make for a very compelling narrative, seeing these two characters going on perilous missions, exchanging witty dialogue and interacting with the MCU from a different perspective.

Now I know that we have Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and that's a great show, but recently it has steered away from S.H.I.E.L.D. and more towards Inhumans, again not complaining, it makes sense in terms of where the characters are headed, though I can't help but miss the good old days of the team going on S.H.I.E.L.D. missions, back when the team was a lot more intimate, smaller and contained, so what's more contained than a duo? (Nothing, well maybe just one person, but that probably won't be as interesting)

The Matt Fraction run of Hawkeye is packed with mystery and intriguing subplots, for example: people begin hunting Barton and Kate, so they set out to find out who was hunting them and why.

It's practically writing itself Marvel.

I've taken into account that the MCU TV lineup is already pretty packed, what with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Agent Carter, Daredevil and all the other Defenders shows, along with the recently announced six-month gap between seasons, but we don't mind waiting, as long as we know it's coming. Please.
