On 14th October, almost a year to date after the launch of the public Where Is Martinha campaign, CRAM-ECOMARE has taken in yet another stranded common dolphin.
This dolphin was reportedly a young male stranded on a beach of tamargueira - figueira da foz.
The media article below in which there is a video of the dolphin, reports that the dolphin was 'alive and without apparent injuries,' and he can be seen clearly moving.
Subsequent social media posts made by CRAM state that "he is a very thin 180 cm male and currently with very reserved prognosis" and on 23rd October "We continue to try to stabilize the common dolphin ..." and that he is under 24 hour surveillance.
Martinha's Rescue Coalition have yet to confirm if a harbour porpoise taken in by CRAM back in August was released and will be keeping a close eye on what happens with this most recent common dolphin rescue.
Please remember that we believe CRAM still has Martinha a female common dolphin at their facility, yet continue to conceal her location and her current state of welfare.
