End animal testing for household products
Animal testing for household cleaning products is still allowed in the European Union.
Cruelty free companies like The Co-operative, Marks and Spencer, Waitrose, Ecover, method, and Bio-D have proven it is possible to make household products without testing on animals.
Yet across Europe animals including rabbits, hamsters, rats and mice continue to suffer and die in tests for the ingredients that go into everyday household products such as washing up liquid, air fresheners and dishwasher tablets.
We successfully campaigned for an EU ban on testing cosmetics on animals, now let’s make household products cruelty free.
It’s time for the EU to clean up cruelty. Please join us in calling on the European Parliament to take decisive action for animals by banning animal tests for household cleaning products in the European Union.
- Spitzenkandidat für die Bundestagswahl 2017
Martin Schulz (SPD)
- Martin Schulz, The President of the European Parliament
We, the undersigned, are dismayed that animal testing for household cleaning products is still allowed in the European Union. We urge the European Union to implement a full ban on animal testing for household products including their ingredients, as it has done with animal testing for cosmetics.
