Gerritsen Beach has seen yet another horrifying tragedy, due to speeding vehicles. We have petitioned, we have begged, we have pleaded for more traffic lights to line Gerritsen avenue. This is where we now demand. We demand lights be put on OUR avenue. We need to protect our children, our neighbors, our family. You will say that you have alleviated the issue with speeding camera. The only thing that speeding cameras have accomplished is garnering revenue for the city. You will say that they work. Speed cameras simply DO NOT WORK. This is now, very sadly, proven. You may have more speeding tickets in the books, but at what cost?
