Martin Österdahl has shown that he does not stand with the values of the Eurovision Song Contest. The contest was created after WW2 to unite European countries through music. The Eurovision Song Contest is an inherently anti-war event. This year's contest has seen a rise in security measures over fear of violent acts, all of this because the EBU refused to ban Israel. In 2022, Russia was banned because of the war in Ukraine. Nowadays, they like to say they banned Russia because they broke EBU rules regarding public media. However, back in 2022, the reason given was simply the invasion. The EBU is rewriting history just to not sound hypocritical. 

Israel's participation puts the contest in disrepute, creates a dangerous environment, and allows the country a platform to promote itself and the atrocities being committed in Gaza. 

Palestinian flags have been banned from a show that calls itself "apolitical". A flag is not political. A Palestinian flag does not break the apolitical nature of the contest. Israel, on the other hand, admittedly breaks the "apolitical" nature by bringing a song that the songwriters directly described as political.

It is now clear that Martin Österdahl stands with war and chaos. This is everything the Eurovision Song Contest isn't. It is time to resign and give your position to someone who has a deep understanding of the values of this contest.
