Dear City of Harker Heights:

 The residents of the Tuscany Meadows subdivision are exasperated with the lack of speed control measures in our neighborhood. We ask the city's implementation of speed limit signage, speed bumps, or ramped up police presence in an effort to protect our children, pets, and property.

  Currently we have no signs to indicate the legal speed limit on our main thoroughfares and side streets. As a result, those residents who are unaware of the speed limit for the city of Harker Heights use that as an excuse to careen down our streets with no regard for the safety of others. The residents of Tuscany Meadows have reached out to the City on numerous occasions to request a solution to our headache- only to be met with no action. We have been told that speed bumps are not allowed within subdivisions, we have been assured there will be police effort to cite speed violators. We currently have a speed radar device parked on Vineyard Trail that is not functional. There has been no resolution to our complaints.

  It is our request, as tax paying residents, that the City provide a solution to the public safety hazard in our neighborhood. Since you are unwilling to provide speed bumps; we ask that speed limits are placed throughout the subdivision, as well as stop signs at more intersections throughout the neighborhood. There also needs to be a greater police presence for those who fail to obey said signage. We are tired of being ignored. The consequences of the City failing to address this issue could be fatal.
