Marquette university students are being restricted more than ever with covid-19. We understand the implications of corona virus and it’s spread. However the university must understand there is a better way to handle the virus than a ban on allowing friends, significant others and classmates into a private space.

We DEMAND

1. The ability to see friends in private spaces in small groups (10 or under) 
2. Masks be a requirement for people who you are not living with
3. The ability to bring “non essential” furniture (couches futons ect)
4. If restrictions around seeing others are not pulled, a change to allow second year students to live off campus 
5. A reduction in room and board reflecting the lack of work from multiple positions If students cannot see guests 

Corona virus is tough as we as students have to make so many sacrifices. it is imperative for Marquette University to stop infantilizing us and give us the benefit of the doubt. I call on you as a student I realize your right as a human to see others. 

restricting people in this way can 

• affect mental health
• affect relationships
• affect friendships
• affect grades 
• affect freedom of choice 

Please consider your fellow students even if you feel like this choice will not impact you. If marquette does not make a change there are other ways protest around this. Don’t let your university control your private life.

A Jesuit institution after all should value the choice and the ability to make your own choice.
