Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson: Offer A Reward For Mikeona Johnson information
The Issue
On September 9th, 2020, Mikeona Johnson, a Mother of 2, and beloved family member, went missing. She was found, days later, deceased, partially disrobed, in the back seat of her own vehicle, in an area that had already been heavily canvassed, by her family. The official cause of death remains "undetermined" and LAPD closed their investigation after just 6 months, despite unexplored inconsistencies. No reward was ever offered for information leading to an arrest. Black women are currently leading as victims of homicides, in America, being murdered at an egregious rate of every 6 hrs, per the information of Black Femicide America.; this is, in part, due to the irreverence toward the victims, given by law enforcement agencies and local government. Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson did not offer an award for information leading to an arrest and District Attorney George Gascon did not open an independent investigation or respond to requests from the family. We are asking for all hands on deck in laying the foundation for a safer community for Black women and girls, by taking their disappearances and deaths seriously. Los Angeles, the second largest city in America, has the potential to write the blueprint. With a simple signature and share, you can help impact on this particular case, and how these cases move forward. Please help us move this case forward and get justice for Mikeona Johnson.
