I, Korey Coleman, a critic based in Austin, TX, am looking for support in asking Marlon Wayans to please stop making theatrically released spoof movies. For years critics have had to endure a series of his parody films, including entries in the 'Scary Movie' franchise and two 'A Haunted House' films. Arguably, they have all eroded in quality with every new release.

I do not wish to affect his income, as these films are made cheap enough to bring in a profit. However, the profit they been able to make over the years has seen a dip. With the exception of the first 'A Haunted House' ($40 mil domestic), his last spoof film 'A Haunted House 2' brought in $17 mil domestic. That's lower than his lesser performing spoof 'Dance Flick' ($25.7 mil domestic).

Instead I ask for straight to home distribution (DVD, Blu-ray, VOD). The home market has been proven to be great source of revenue for movies with a niche market. Undeniably, Marlon Wayans does have a fanbase. It's my opinion they will support his movies even more on the home release market. Perhaps a Netflix deal can be reached. For example, Adam Sandler's 'The Ridiculous Six' is Netflix's most watched movie ever (http://www.slashfilm.com/netflix-ridiculous-6/ solidifying Netflix's four picture deal with Sandler as a smart business move for both parties.

More importantly, with Marlon Wayans' films going straight to home video, I will not not have to endure any more of his spoofs in the theatre. I literally can't take it anymore. I see this as a win-win for Wayans and critics who have the same sentiments as myself.

I mean no disrespect towards Marlon Wayans. What I hope for the most from this move is that it will get Marlon Wayans back into real acting. When he's not going for easy money and laughs with the juvenile humor of his spoof films, he is genuinely funny and a fine actor. Anyone who has seen 'Requiem For A Dream' can attest to his talent as a more than capable dramatic performer. In my opinion, he just needs to challenge himself. Hopefully this petition can push him towards that talent.
