Zynga Players Want Castleville Legends to Continue
The Issue
Castleville Legends is a game from Zynga. It has a story, developed characters, good graphics and best of all, features alliances and chatting among players. There is a global market for buying and selling items. The alliance feature allows 50 players- from around the globe and often total strangers-to play together, work towards goals and chat while doing so. People who get to know one another, about their lives, and look forward to seeing each other in the game every day. There are many other games out there in the world, but in looking for a replacement for this game, there is no other that comes close.
Why petition a company to keep a game it wants to get rid of? Because Zynga has let this gem stagnate instead of grow. For 2 years this game has had a very loyal audience, even though the company put very little effort into growing or expanding the game. Zynga had a blog and offered Suggestion Sundays, where players gave their FREE consumer input to the company on how to improve the game--but they ignored the feedback. For months players have been begging Zynga to inform us on what the status of the game was, and if it would be continuing, with no reply--and yet most of us kept playing. Zynga is having trouble as a company and needs games that are winners. This game could easily become a big money maker for Zynga, should they chose to put a little care and attention into the game.
How could they keep this game and continue it? Well, first of all, the game has never had an increase in levels and maximum money earned. If there were additional levels players stay--just like that. The game had EVENTS-timed, themed events for holidays and to push the story line forward. Sometimes the events were too difficult and not fun, with terrible prizes. Other events were fantastic and made the fans so happy and active--so, do more like that Zynga.
Many times the players suggested Zynga have a player panel to help them when planning these events out, to avoid the total duds. That's cheap and easy to do, and Zynga should consider doing it. Right now with this game ending, the loyal fans are not looking to go to other Zynga games--they are looking to avoid them like the plague. Zynga isn't in stable shape to turn players against them, and wants to introduce more versions of their old stand by Farmville--almost making it certain that the company will lose even more money and eventually fold.
So we, the loyal players of Castleville Legends are asking Zynga to reconsider shelving the game. Please Mark Pincus and Zynga consider the valuable free advice we as consumers are giving you. Thank you!
