I want to thank you so much for signing the petition to ban paid-for political ads on Facebook.

We know that these ads give the party with the biggest a hugely unfair advantage.  The Conservatives in the UK surged Facebook with 100s of ads with millions on Facebook in the days leading up to the elections. Were these ads on billboards or print press, any inaccuracies can be challenged, but on social media they can almost say what they like without scrutiny, which is anti-democratic.

Clearly we need to change our laws, but in the meantime we need to stop them skewing our democracies and giving an unfair advantage to those parties with the highest bugets. 

Please, would you kindly share this petition with your friends, families and colleagues as widely as possible.

So far I have managed with your help to get 537 signatures, but for this to have any impact we need at least a million. It may take time to get there, but this is so very important as every day demcracy in elections is being eroded.
