GIVE MARK RUFFALO’S HULK HIS OWN MCU MOVIE

For over a decade, Mark Ruffalo has played one of Marvel’s most iconic characters: Bruce Banner and the Hulk.

He has been an Avenger. He has fought aliens, Ultron, Thanos, and some of the biggest threats in the MCU. He has appeared alongside Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Spider-Man, and countless other heroes.

But somehow, after all this time, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk still has never received his own MCU movie.

Iron Man got a trilogy. Thor got a legacy of films. Captain America got multiple movies. Spider-Man has received multiple solo films.

And Hulk? He keeps getting pushed into other characters’ stories.

We understand that there has been a complicated, decades-long distribution rights stalemate between Marvel Studios and Universal Pictures surrounding standalone Hulk movies. But fans shouldn't have to accept corporate red tape as the end of the conversation. Mark Ruffalo has repeatedly expressed interest in making a solo Hulk movie, and creatives have even noted that he has pitched ideas for what one could look like.

We are asking Marvel Studios, Disney, and Universal Pictures to clear the air, overcome the legal hurdles, and find a way to make it happen.

Not another movie where Hulk is just a supporting character. Not another appearance where Banner and Hulk get pushed aside for someone else's story.

We want HULK.

After more than a decade of watching this character in the MCU, many fans are tired of seeing Hulk repeatedly get nerfed, sidelined, or used to make other characters look more powerful. We've watched Hulk lose to the Hulkbuster. We've watched him get defeated by Thanos in Infinity War. We've watched him disappear for most of the movie afterward, despite being one of the Avengers' strongest and most important members.

Meanwhile, Infinity War and Endgame gave so many other heroes major moments to shine. Hulk deserved that too. His defeat by Thanos was an important moment for Bruce Banner and Hulk, but it also left fans wanting to see Hulk come back and prove his absolute strength.

Instead, Avengers: Endgame introduced Professor Hulk.

Rather than giving Hulk the epic comeback fans had been waiting for, the MCU introduced a version of the character that many felt abandoned the very conflict that made Bruce Banner and the Hulk so compelling in the first place.

Bruce Banner and the Hulk were never supposed to be just two halves that needed to be seamlessly combined to create a placid hero. Their relationship was built on conflict, fear, resentment, and a brutal struggle for control over the same body. Bruce wants a normal life; he sees the Hulk as a monster that threatens his humanity. Hulk, on the other hand, wants freedom; he sees Banner as a jailer trying to lock him away and deny him the right to exist.

That tension is one of the most fascinating aspects of comic book history.

Rather than fully exploring this complicated relationship, the MCU largely skipped over it by presenting Professor Hulk as an off-screen solution. For fans who wanted to see the ongoing internal struggle, this felt like a significant loss of what made the character unique. Hulk isn't simply Bruce Banner with green skin and super strength. He is a distinct entity with his own emotions, desires, identity, and complex relationship with Banner.

We wanted to see the true consequences of Hulk's defeat by Thanos. We wanted to see his return, his anger, his growth, and his chance to prove himself. We wanted to see Banner and Hulk's complicated relationship develop naturally, with real stakes for both of them.

And that is why a solo Hulk movie matters.

Marvel has an opportunity to restore the depth, power, and complexity of this character while finally giving him the spotlight he deserves. We urge Marvel Studios, Disney, and Universal Pictures to finalize a mutually beneficial agreement that allows Mark Ruffalo's Hulk to receive the solo spotlight—and potentially a multi-film arc like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, or Black Panther.

Fans have waited long enough to see this character receive the same opportunity to lead his own stories as Marvel's other major heroes. We ask the companies involved to explore every option to clear the path. One Hulk movie would be a start. Multiple Hulk movies would give the character the long-term development, storylines, and recognition that fans have been demanding for years.
