Stop Employers Coercing Employees to Get Vaccine or Be Fired

Friends, we need to do more for our friends about to be fired for standing up for their beliefs.
There’s a lot of issues going on right now, but I personally think this issue needs to be the priority because of the time limit. Or at least do something the same time you’re focusing on other items. Do it fast.
Not just healthcare!!! I know of many businesses across the state, large and small, about to lay off October 18th and 30th *AND* denying all exemptions even though they setup an application process. Even some rejection letters the employer acknowledges the employees “Sincere religious beliefs.” B freaking S!!
People aren’t free to choose uncertainty/risk of Covid vs uncertainty/risk of the shot. None of us know the factors, experiences, etc. that people have to weigh in their decisions.
Employers are proving how much less they care about their employees than we thought possible.
People, families, children will ALL be affected in these families.
People, families, children will be affected even if they aren’t fired or if they’ve taken the shot.
Our economy, supply chains, etc. will take a hit like never before seen.
We think it’s bad now? Hospital space and wait times are an issue today...imagine once more healthcare staff are fired.
Think shortages are bad now? Wait until manufacturers lay off. Wait until truckers get laid off. Wait until the corporate office staff are fired.
Think products are expensive now??? Ditto to above.
Think waiting at a restaurant to be seated and served takes a while now? Just wait.
Think you’ll never be fired because you’ve had the shot(s)? They very well could continue pushing boosters. What if (because none of us can know how we will feel in the future), you decide you want to skip a booster, no longer agree, or just get tired of them? Now none of your shots are valid and you’re fired.
What if you don’t care right now while it’s only businesses with 100+ employees (verify the stipulations I may have that wrong)? In a month it could be 50, 25, 10, all. It’ll be too late to reverse by then!!
Firing people and threatening their livelihood should be everyone’s boundary line for this going too far and gross overreach by our government and companies. They think they own you. They don’t.
Want to keep promoting the shot?? Go ahead! I support and respect your right to do so. Want to provide incentives? Go for it! I support your right to do so. Want to promote not getting the shot? Go ahead! I support and respect your right to do so. Want to ask questions? Go for it! I support your right to do so. Help your friends job hunt and network. Help them if they get fired. They need your support! DO SOMETHING if you know this is wrong.
Coercion: the practice of persuading someone to do something by using force or threats. This includes something illegal OR legal. What’s happening here is not simply “pressure.” Coercion and workplace coercion IS ILLEGAL. The threat is your livelihood and risk your health in your option, and the force getting a shot & subjecting yourself to risk of bodily harm. (I get that lots of people don’t view the shot this way, and that’s okay, but millions of people DO. It’s perfectly rational and valid just like your opposite opinion/choice).
I do not support or respect any business who is willing to COERCE their employees to do something against their will. I do not support or respect any person who knows this is wrong and chooses to say/do nothing. I do not respect or support anyone who thinks this IS okay, in fact, I think you are some of the most evil and vile humans I could ever encounter. To be okay with forcing humans to do something against their will and/or beliefs.
No matter where your choices and views stand today, our friends need YOUR help and support. Say something to your employers, HR, supervisors, whoever you can! Say something to employers you know are about to do this, let them know the public KNOWS! Say something to leaders. Say something to your friends and let them know you support their freedom for control over their own body and medical choice. Say something to your employer even if they haven’t done this yet, that you won’t support it. Say something to your coworkers, help them get the guts to do something with you. Safety and power in numbers, remember that saying?
Another point worth mentioning is while incentives are offered by employers, the shot isn’t a condition of employment. So they aren’t liable to any adverse side effects, long or short term. Here is the line, once you require it as a condition of employment (which you are do by coercing your employees), YOU ARE LIABLE FOR ANY AND EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO THAT EMPLOYEE. Whether you sign anything stating so or not!!! Not signing guarantee doesn’t protect your business.
People. Please make this your boundary line. Don’t let this happen to people. It’s not right, it’s wrong. It’s sick. It’s sad. It’s devastating. It’s evil.
