Many thanks for your emails on this.
I have fixed a meeting with the WST to discuss these matches and I have also written to Mark Polin, the Chief Constable of North Wales Police, to ask for a meeting on the issue. A copy of that letter is below:
Dear Mark,
I am writing to you concerning the Wrexham v. Chester Match Designation, an issue which has raised great concern amongst many in Wrexham.
A number of constituents have raised the issue direct with me as well as on Change.org. I enclose a particular e-mail which I think sums up many fans thoughts, which happens to be from a Chester fan.
Their main concerns are essentially that the restrictions on fans independent movement unnecessarily effects genuine fans and will not prevent those that want to cause trouble from doing so. This is especially so given the kick off time and day of the week.
I would also appreciate clarification on the further points regarding the freedom of movement within the grounds themselves. The argument against the potential restriction of fans from going to the toilet whilst in the ground or indeed the totally unnecessary wait for fans entering the stadium through one turnstile, are especially compelling. I would like assurances that this will not happen in either the game at Chester on the 22nd September or the return fixture on the 7th March.
I would be grateful if we could meet to discuss these specific concerns and the imposition of Bubble Match status as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely,
Ian Lucas MP
