Recommend SB 104 (decriminalization of simple marijuana possession) to the full Virginia General Assembly Senate Floor
This petition had 3,127 supporters
Virginia General Assembly Senate Bill 104, introduced by Senator Adam P. Ebbin, decriminalizes marijuana possession and changes the current $500 criminal fine for simple marijuana possession to a maximum $100 civil penalty payable to the Literary Fund and eliminates the 30-day jail sentence.
The State Senators listed on this petition are all members of the Courts of Justice committee, which is responsible for referring the bill to the full Senate, or, as has been done with similar legislation in past sessions, vote it down and kill it.
We encourage citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia to sign this petition that it may be presented to the Committee of Courts when they reconvene January 2016.
