Campaign Update: Feedback from City of Rockingham

Good afternoon and thank you all for the support so far. Please keep sharing the campaign with friends and family, I would love to print out and hand in 1000 signatures to Mark McGowan and City of Rockingham! Here is the information I have received from City of Rockingham; "The City has provided traffic data to WA Police for two locations on Arcadia Drive, south of Penguin road. The City has also asked that WA Police increase speeding enforcement on Arcadia Drive. Residents are encouraged to report speeding and hooning via the link attached. Additionally, data will be collected at a further 5 locations covering the entire road length of Arcadia Drive. The City will investigate all speed related matters identified through the data from all seven locations to determine the requirement for traffic management. The City will analyse data hour by hour, to determine the period with the most excessive speeding. The traffic counters will be deployed for a total of 7 days. The City has also already provided the existing data to WA Police. MW - Engineering & Parks Services." Myself and a couple of fellow witnesses attended the council meeting on Tuesday evening. Mayor Sammels and all council members are aware of the campaign and the increasing support. They are awaiting the police report to confirm speeding was a contributing factor to the tragic accident. Once the police report has confirmed this, we will attend the next council meeting to ask what permanent traffic calming measures will be put in place and when to expect them.
