Unifying Us, 1st Public Hearing 10/18

New Resource to Unify Us These email updates have been sent through the website Change.org, where you signed the petition. Change.org has been a good resource for gathering signatures and sending occasional updates, but it has limitations that may have a significant negative impact on our efforts as we get closer to the decision date. For example, Change.org limits us to one update, via email, every 24 hours, and doesn't allow for responses, thus limiting communication. Also, it sends those updates only to those who've signed the petition on that website, while many more Arvada residents may be interested as things progress. As the public hearings for 68th & Carr (a.k.a. Hillside Cottages) draw near, and as hundreds of people may need answers and information quickly and often, we need a tool that fosters quick communication, discussion, and reach throughout Arvada. I set up a group page on Facebook called "68th & Carr." This gives everyone in the community who has an account on Facebook a common place to check in for updates, ask questions and get responses, and more. Having a common place where all of us can communicate together will be key in our being organized, informed, efficient, and of a common goal and approach. If you are "friends" on Facebook with your neighbors or others who may be interested in this issue, you can invite them to join this group, once you've joined. I'll continue emailing summary updates through Change.org as I have been, though I'll be tending to the "68th & Carr" page on Facebook much more.
