It's a longer update today, but important and as concise as possible. According to Arvada's website, the developer submitted their formal rezoning application on 4/1. It is currently under review. Next: - A pubic hearing before the Planning Commission will be scheduled. At least 15 days prior to the public hearing, the developer must post a notice of the hearing on the property. At least 12 days prior to the hearing, the developer must send written notice to all properties that share a boundary with the site or are across the street--and also to those who request to be notified. - The Planning Commission public hearing is our first opportunity to present our petition. It's also our time to fill City Council Chambers with supporters. Promote Our Petition? You may have received an email prompting you to promote our petition with a financial contribution. That is an automated email sent from Change.org, the site hosting our petition. (It's how they make their money.) Note, no money goes to me, to us, or to the account I created on the petition site. Rather, Change.org receives the money, and in return they email our petition to a number of their users. However, the site does not indicate where their users are or why they might be interested in an Arvada-focused petition.
