Cloud 9 Adventures needs to provide refund options now
The Issue
To Mark Brown (Founder and Managing Partner of Cloud 9 Adventures) and All Participating Artists,

We call upon all of the participating artists to respond to and advocate for fans’ needs in these unprecedented times. Currently there are four petitions circulating for Cloud 9 Adventures to offer refund options. The requests include: refund options for individuals fearful of traveling with current transmission rates and/ or fearful of the 10-14 day quarantine requirement as the CDC changed the requirement for a negative test result to travel via Airlines. They also include requests to consider postponement or cancellation of the concerts. Cloud 9 Adventures has not responded to any of these petitions or fans’ requests, despite other Event Planners responding to their customers -- CID providing a refund option to Dead & Co and Pollen providing refunds to anyone testing positive within 14 days of travel.
Cloud 9 Adventures is now placing 100% of the risk and demands for flexibility on the individual fan and even generating additional revenue from the desperate selling of tickets. They changed their policies for COVID safety (e.g., requiring a negative test result) but did not change financial policies or provide other options to fans accordingly.
On Dec 23rd, we received an email of an update that all guests and staff needed proof of a negative test result within 2 days of checking in.
They also said in this email, emphasizing that they will not flex for fans:
In an effort to be extra fan-friendly in the times we are living, our standard name change policies and cut off dates were loosened for the upcoming event. However, in doing so, we have found it to be impossible to deliver the same level of service that we hold for ourselves and from the resort.
“The level of service” for Cloud 9 Adventures included:
- Charged $250 to join the waitlist to receive tickets
- Redirected waitlisters to a Facebook group run for free by fans to figure out selling and buying on their own
- Offered to verify ticket holders with no additional service
- Charged $225 per name transfer and made a Jan 5th deadline for all transfers
