I am starting this petition for my son and all other students at Fort McCoy School in Fort McCoy Florida. For the last five months I have been fighting the school district the school the police and DCF to get a pedophile out of the school.
January of this year I was informed by my son that his seventh grade math teacher Miss Bradley was sexually harassing him, and has been doing it since November of the previous year. I immediately went to the school the following day it was a Friday January 24th and told themwthem my son had told me. My son told me that on several different occasions this teacher had commented about how his butt looked in the jeans that he was wearing. Whistled at him told him that he looked older than his age and that he could date older women, made him do push-ups to use the restroom. Told him that his muscles look good in the clothing that he was wearing. Then asked him if he was in a sexual relationship with his girlfriend and if he had wet dreams about her yet.

The school officials did seem concerned and they informed me that they would do a thorough investigation. I believe them, I trusted them and I thought they were going to do the right thing. When we left the school my son said he felt so much better. Like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
The following Wednesday I get a phone call from the dean of the school Mr. Blackston stating that he needed me to come to the office so we can talk. I'm thinking that it's an update on the investigation as it had only been 2 days. When I walk in the officeaoffice there are four people in the room my son, Mr. Blackston, the assistant principal, who I have never met, and the principal Miss Fisher, and my son, who was visibly upset and when I asked him what was wrong he would not tell me (after leaving he told me that Mr. Blackston pulled him from breakfast that morning and drilled him for over an hour calling him a liar telling him he wasn't telling the truth and that because of his posture he wasn't telling the truth all while my son  kept asking to call me and Mr blackston refused.) The principal, with a smirk on her face, stated that they did a "thorough investigation of 4 hours and no one said that they heard anything. So there for there is consequences for giving misleading information. I questioned the two wittinesses, I didn't tell them about this situation going on with your son, but asked them if they heard any sexual content in the class." I said 'why wouldn't you ask about this day? So you're calling my son a liar???!!" Her, "oh no, I'm not saying that he is lying but he gave false information". Me, "Ummmm...that is what you're calling him without saying he is lying." Her, "well, we don't have enough proof. So there for he is giving false information." (Are you freaking kidding me????!!!) I did yell, I did scream. I will not lie. I lost it. Asking them how can you punish my child bc he came forward. This can't be true. Just bc no wittinesses came forward doesn't mean she didn't say these things to my child.( She did admit to making my child do push-ups, but that's it) what does my son have to gain from this?? Nothing at all. But be called a liar and be kicked out of school. Then they said the other adult in the room said that she didn't hear anything like that. And I said oh yeah, bc ppl don't lie for ppl they like, plus when these comments were made it was towards the end of class and that teacher leaves ten to fifteen mins before the bell rings. And that's just like telling a rape victim that bc there isn't no wittinesses or wittinesses won't come forward means it didn't happen to them?! The principal said that is different and I said how is that different?? Then I brought up how last year there was a teacher sleeping with a student at this school. The assistant principal quickly said that has nothing to do with this. I said it absolutely does. It shows a pattern. And apparently you all don't care about these kids safety. Only your image.
      My son hasn't had no problems with this teacher at all. He has an A in her class. My son is a AB student. He has a 3.2 GPA. He is a very well behaved kid. Anyone that knows him knows this. They didn't want to hear it. I said what did you all concoct, for punishment I want to hear this, I don't agree and will not and did not sign anything, The dean of the school looked at me and said that he contacted the school borad and turned in their packet to them and they looked it over and decided not to do an investigation. And that this was a level three offense. They wanted to suspend my son for 10 days and recommend that he go to an alternative school. I said sounds like you are just trying to get rid of my son. And they just kept saying he told false information. And I told them that the are not looking out for my son but their appearance to the public.
When I got home I contacted the school board. They didn't even know what I was talking about. The school lied to me.They never contacted the school board!! And apparently that's ok, from what I have gathered.

So, the following Monday, February the 3rd, and many phone calls later, the school finally turns in my son's "packet" to the school board. In the mean time I pulled him from that school and enrolled him in virtual School. So he didn't fall to far behind.
Tuesday, the next day, the school board calls and says that they are siding with my son and denied the schools recommendation of alternative placement. And I needed to contact the principal immediately by email to have his suspension removed from his school record.
DCF and police were called. but the police didn't seem to have any interest in it because he was a male student and that this teacher did not touch him. the DCF case worker told me that my son's claims were verified but because of the way that the teacher Union is set up in Florida that she could only turn over her findings and her investigation over to the school board and the school board has the final say on what happens to her. So I then contacted Florida department of education and they told me to call HR. Which I did. And the gentleman, Mr Carson, I talked to wasn't very nice. He pretty much said the same the thing the school said. And acted as if my son was lying. When asked if the parents of the students my son gave as wittinesses knew that their kids are being questioned in this kind of situation. He would not answer me. He said the school questioned the whole class. But not every class this teacher teaches. Why not??
I have emailed all of the school board members, I even went in front of them at a school board meeting. With nothing still being done.
Since going public on facebook two more victims and several wittinesses have come forward, with nothing still being done. I fear for the future students of this teacher, because they know no one will believe them or be punished as my son was.
And here's the real kicker. My son had an A in this teachers class all school year long, but when I enrolled him in FLVS, his final grade at the end of the year was an F. His new math teacher said he doesn't know how my son even had an A. He didn't know anything!!
So please sign this petition so that we can get this pedophile out of the school. She deserves to be hind bars. But unfortunately that doesn't look like that will happen until she touches
