I am in total shock. We, the family, know the details of the horrific things Cody Waggoner did to Bradley Powell. This has not been made public due to everyone in the judicial system telling us to “just sit back and keep quiet”. We were promised by the DA that there was “no way in hell” the murderer Cody Waggoner would be granted a bond. His acts on Bradley were so heinous that he could qualify for the death penalty. HE IS ON THE STREETS THIS MORNING. HE IS OUT OF JAIL.
This was not a “crime of passion” this was premeditated first degree murder. He murdered Bradly in a way that would be described as “overkill” and then desecrated his remains before burying him on his parents property. He has threatened multiple people with death if they spoke up against him, including his younger (15?) year old brother who apparently led investigators to the crime scene after Cody “showed off” what he had done to his younger brother. He has multiple prior convictions including felony arson when he went into the bathroom at CBC, stacked all the toilet paper together and lit it on fire almost burning down the establishment with people inside. Is this the kind of man that deserves bond?? How safe do you feel knowing that someone this psychotic is out? When I was informed last night that he had made bail, they would not even tell me the conditions of the bail. I have no idea if he is even being monitored or wearing an ankle bracelet- Which does nothing if he plans to run or worse, make due on his promises to kill the witnesses. As far as I know, I was the only person informed. I do not think any of the witnesses to this case have been informed. I asked about my own family’s safety, what do we do? Where can we go? I was given the answer “call your local police, sorry I’m at my doctors appointment and I have to go” that was the words of the “victim and witness protection” agent that called me. This is WRONG! Please help if you have any guidance for the family and witnesses. I have called the DA multiple times and his assistant and they will not answer my calls. They failed to warn anyone of his first bond. When I found out he had ANOTHER bond hearing on Monday I posted immediately to gain support to stop this. Instead of waiting for the possible bond reduction on Monday, his family went and bonded him out last night assuming they caught wind of the outrage from the Facebook post yesterday. Why would they not wait until Monday when his bond could have been reduced more? They have kept his first bond as secret to everyone as they could. They are required to inform the family and witnesses of any change and they did not. He has had this first bond for awhile and no one picked him up. He is a massive flight risk and a danger to our communities! Can someone please help?!?
