Marilao river have been destroyed by the ignorance of people and have lack of education on proper disposal of waste products in the river.

According to HelpSaveNature.org and ConserveEnergyFuture.com that the marilao river was ranked as top 4 to 6 dirtiest river in the world. Added to this, all sorts of toxic industrial waste products are dumped into the river each day and household garbage is also discarded in stupendous quantities.

Drainages, industrial effluents, illegal dumping of industrial waste, household waste, garbage are major reasons of polluted water bodies that may causes bacterial illness like leptospirosis, dengue, cholera and more. The garbage in the rivers was one of the greatest contibutor of floods in bulacan, metro manila and other low lying areas.

A huge amount of plastic can be seen flowing in river water and no action is seen being taken to prevent any of these issues.

We demmand a strong policy which aim to the sake of the nature and mentioning the government official to clearly solve these problems.

DENR and Marilao Bulacan Local Government unit must take the responsibility to clean and conserve the marilao river for the sake of other generations.
