We, the visitors and residents of Marfa, respectfully insist that our City government finds an ecologically responsible, non-chemical alternative to controlling weeds in our public spaces, to include alleys, parks and streets.

The City of Marfa's broadcast application of Roundup and other herbicides is negligent, dangerous, and harmful to people, pets, bees, birds and butterflies.  

While the rainy season brings rapid weed growth, it also coincides with children playing outdoors, and bird and butterfly migrations.

Additionally, we're concerned about our city employees who work directly with these chemicals.
