Independent experts should conduct thorough environmental assessments to determine the extent of contamination and develop comprehensive rehabilitation plans. Additionally, mechanisms must be established to provide long-term healthcare and livelihood support for the affected communities. Implementing stricter regulations on mining operations will also prevent similar tragedies from occurring.
