On 10-31-19 Halloween night a 6 year old boy named Dominic was hit by a truck while walking in a lit crosswalk with his family. The boy suffered serious injuries and the driver stated while he did see the flashing lights he didn’t yelled or stop because he didn’t see anyone. I think this would have never happened if a crossing guard or uniform officer was present and assisting with traffic and pedestrians. If kids can have cross guards in school zones and churches can have officers directing traffic after service then why don’t we protect families more on Halloween night?
