BAN BULLFIGHTING IN PORTUGAL.

BAN BULLFIGHTING IN PORTUGAL.
The Issue
Bullfighting is not tradition, it's torture.
For years, animal rights organizations have petitioned the Portuguese government, asking them to ban bullfighting and pass a law which would make this cruelty illegal.
What makes this petition - this organization - any different?
The difference is that I'm 15 years old, and I have my whole life to fight for animals. The difference is that I WILL NOT GIVE UP UNTIL BULLFIGHTING IS OVER. Our voices must be heard.
The Portuguese government and legislation departments both maintain that barbaric bullfighting is 'tradition'. But so are things like cockfighting, the dog meat trade, fur, and animals in circuses. None of these are ethical, but most are shunned in today's world. So why aren't we fighting against bullfighting?
Bullfights in the Portuguese style are horrific. First, in the cavaleiro, a man riding a Lusitano horse attempts to stab the bull with three or four bandeiras, small javelins. The bull is then intentionally provoked by several more men, for a 'performance'.
In the Portuguese bullfighting style, bulls are not slaughtered in the arena but butchered afterwards, behind closed doors. If a bull has an 'exceptional performance', he will be healed and forced to breed - thus continuing the cycle of abuse.
We NEED to end bullfighting - first in Portugal, then in Spain, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Honduras, Costa Rica, India, Mexico, and the United States. Bullfighting is abuse in all its forms, and should be outlawed EVERYWHERE.
