Carol Ann Farino, a 17-year-old high school student, was strangled to death in Maplewood, N.J. more than 55 years ago. Her killer was never found. Her story was recently told in my new book, A Long Walk Home (2021 Amarna Books). It reveals how Maplewood Police and the Essex County Prosecutor's Office mishandled the case back then and are now declining to provide information on their investigation to Carol's sister, Cynthia.

Carol was a pretty, popular and kind young woman who helped others and was struck down needlessly and brutally by a murderer who has yet to face justice, and perhaps never will.

See stories about her case and the latest efforts to find her killer in the Asbury Park Press HERE and The Record of North Jersey HERE.

Cynthia, 11 years old at the time, has sought records and reports related to the crime from both law enforcement agencies, but they refuse.

Please sign this petition urging both law enforcement agencies, the Maplewood Township Committee and Essex County Executive Joe DiVincenzo, to order the case re-opened and information shared with the victim's only surviving sister.
