We, the students of Mapúa University, believe that the decision to have DO-IT automatically generate schedules leaves us at a great disadvantage.

It takes away our right to create a schedule that is best suited to each of our needs. It does not consider our commute time, family obligations and other commitments we have have outside of school. The DO-IT staff doesn't know about the student living in Laguna that spends four hours a day commuting in rush hour traffic, or the one that has to help their parents care for their younger siblings at home even after night classes. Our freedom to choose how we wish to balance our priorities should be up to us, and us alone. Therefore, we strongly urge the administration to continue to allow students to create a schedule that is best not only for their academic career, but for their lives as a whole.
