📢 PETITION TO HELP MANNY GET INTO A NEUROREHABILITATION CENTER 🧠💪

Who is Manny?

Manuel Gonzales Jr. — or Manny, as everyone calls him — is more than just a patient with a traumatic brain injury. He’s a father of two beautiful daughters, a hardworking man, a loving partner, and someone who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. His presence lights up a room, and his heart has always been bigger than his circumstances.

On May 15, 2025, Manny’s life changed forever when he suffered a traumatic brain injury. Since that day, he’s been fighting — not just to survive, but to come back to the people who love him. Despite being hospitalized ever since, Manny is showing signs of awareness and progress: moving his limbs, reacting to voices, responding to commands. These small moments give us huge hope.

But hope alone isn’t enough. Manny needs access to a specialized neurorehabilitation center — a place like Shepherd Center or Memorial Hermann TIRR — where he can receive the therapy and care that could help him truly recover. Right now, he’s in a hospital that cannot provide the level of therapy required for brain injury recovery.

He has no insurance, and we’re in the middle of waiting on disability and Medicaid decisions. But time is critical. Every day without therapy is a missed opportunity. That’s why we’re asking for charity care consideration, and we need your help to get the attention of the right decision-makers.

Manny is still here. He’s still fighting. And we’re not giving up on him.
