Save Trees and Greenspace In Southwest Winnipeg

The Issue

Greenspaces and trees are precious, not only for today but, for our future generations.  Destroying them to build additional housing when there is already land that is zoned for residential construction that is unused makes absolutely no sense.  It will negatively impact the southend of the city of Winnipeg, area residents as well as its inhabitants - deer, birds etc.

The land had originally been designated for a school however it didn't meet its requirements.  The land should be saved and used for the benefit of everyone.

We need to have Manitoba Housing reconsider moving forward with this initiative.  If this goes ahead, WE ALL LOSE.

There is an Open House planned by Manitoba Housing on May 3rd as they want to share THEIR plans for the site.  We need to have as many voices as possible to let them know that building more homes is unacceptable. That destroying the environment is unacceptable. Did I mention that the land in question is in Bridgwater Forest?  Named by Manitoba Housing!

If you care about the environment, about maintaining green spaces, trees, fauna, please join the petition and add your voice to those of local residents - starting with mine.

I care, I know you care. Please sign and share.  Thank-you!
