When our children get harmed in disabilities-The ndis quality commission say with no witnesses and no camera evidence they cannot do anything ...they are like an insurance claims department who do not want the claims proven... Money on their minds, and minds on their money - disabilities providers - and the Judas scenario of betrayal against the vulnerable....#disabilitylivesmatteroz
I took my son to the police to report an injury inflicted during a day program, the other week and let them see for themselves what a disability boy acts like in my son’s case. James was amusingly running around the police station and then settled down to play his music. He ran out the doors into the police back room and I blocked the doorway. Is everything ok? Asked a policeman its ok its just James.
He's not a prisoner but he keeps escaping I said to the young policewoman. We tried to do the statement on James’s injury in the middle of all this. He had received bruises at his day program where I thought they would never let that happen as he had been assaulted by a worker who had spent the last few hours with him that day (I suspected from all her lies) at a respite house a year ago.
It seems as though anything goes when a boy is non verbal young or adult he still is young in his IQ and not able to speak. They think they can hurt him and get away with it. Yeah theyre right they can. I wont let this keep happening or anyone get away with anything I will fight when they say they know nothing and plead their ignorance. It’s a mystery she said, the manager, its not a Trixie Belden mystery to be solved or a secret seven story - a thriller but the tension is unbearable. Yet it is rapidly becoming like that with monsters lurching everywhere in the shadows of disabilities care… and I have to be sherlock holmes and work it all out! Why ? Because the managers and disabilities workers lie. They all lie, to back up each other’s lies and they don’t care like I thought they did or they portrayed to me. I have to use a huge magnifying glass to catch those who would hurt or exploit my son.
The care workers and managers especially so innocent in my presence. Out of sight they become the Jekyll/hyde character. Beware Im gonna catch you out. I spy had nothing on me. Parents get desperate. If you cannot protect your vulnerable child from harm you are stuck in a place of depression and despair at having to watch them get hurt over and over again when you were least expecting it. Workers often lacking training, and patience too it s not their kid. He needs a body cam I said to the policewoman who took details and photos.
I told her, I cant let them (providers and workers) hurt James all his life. WE have had James for 27 years since the day I gave birth to him and he has never had a bruise on him from us. Nothing. He doesn’t bruise easily. He was once bitten by a kid at a holiday programme but the workers said look another kid did this very sorry, that’s ok they were all only little 5 year olds including James, she reported to me straightaway. I understood. But James as an adult recently coming home with bruises starting as little marks turning in enormous bruises that spread over his whole top arm was shocking. Coming home with a hit to the head and swollen a year or so ago with the worker saying she saw nothing, despicable. That was a respite house the worker was moved on straight after the incident. There was a reshuffle of workers and staff including the manager, and even more after I reported fraud in the ranks stealing my son’s funding!. The wolves wait to pounce they have no conscience it seems.
This time is a day program where my son was injured no one knew how or why?? - the young police woman was really good this time and said I have a camera filming us right now and I am wearing a body cam. I want to know if I can put one on James I said and a label on his clothes saying I have CCTV surveillance on me. I need to deter workers. I would even put a label on him with no cameras on him if that would stop them. Can you tell me the laws for a body cam I said to protect him? She said she would get back to me about it.
They should make cameras mandatory in these places she said the system is broken. It seems too soon to say the system is broken when it has only just been started yet this system was put in like this the NDIS it seems works against helping those with disabilities instead of helping them. It appears to help them but when it comes to harm it does not protect them. When I talked to the NDIS quality and safety commission on the latest incident that happened to James, she said straight to me after talking to the day program., there were no witnesses and no cameras. WE cant do anything. I had also just been to another doctor a second time and he said these are not just a hard squeeze bruises, this is deep trauma to the arm caused by a strong hit or repeated hitting. I told him to write it down.
Now the quality and safety commission young woman tells me no witnesses no cameras, no one in trouble. The workers should have been the witnesses but they witness something and don’t tell on each other. Well why don’t you make them have cameras all the disability places. Its up to each provider and we can’t make them have cameras. Well you should I said. We cant do anything she said.
Why do you actually exist just to make our lives harder ? I asked her. You never punish the providers you never suspend them or stop their money even when our children are hurt. You say we cant have cameras, and yet you say without cameras and witness you cannot do anything. The workers never saw anything she said. They can be lying I said or they were not looking and another client hurt James, or they saw it and chose to cover up. To protect themselves and keep making money out of my son.
Their betrayal reminds me of Judas, he sold Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. Easter is coming while I write this. With Judas, It was all about the money, he pretended to care about what his leader was doing and to care about people but he was motivated to get his money. There was a lot of discussion on this website about whether people cry or not when they are guilty. I have seen plenty of men on tv crying over the missing wife, only to find later he had killed her. Many times in the news. Awful. The manager had told me at the day program the workers were deeply upset and one had cried. I commented that you can cry when you are guilty too.
Judas may have cried later, he felt bad after they slaughtered Jesus on the cross for political reasons they did it the pharisees handing Jesus over to the Romans. Judas lied and betrayed Jesus for the money. He may have cried or not about it but he felt remorse and hung himself. He suicided I think he possibly felt bad . Peter the disciple of Jesus, lied when questioned, three times denying he knew Christ, he did that out of fear for his life and then wept when the Cock crowed after the third time, but he was forgiven. He didn’t do it for the money. The lying. He was protecting himself. It was survival instinct.
Yet those Providers from top down in disabilities do the job for the money and they lie for the money and they don’t care about our innocent lambs they are meant to be tending to. They easily lie. They may cry to when our children get hurt but this worker only cried after I told them off. It may also be survival instinct to save their job, their skins, but they have no shame about letting a disability person or child get harmed and that is just cruel and wrong. Its also their form of discrimination they wouldn’t like their own child hurt would they?
How could the worker who neglected Ann Marie Smith let her die with no food or care or moving her and then be allowed to care for her grandchild after committing this manslaughter? Discrimination in the justice system is still there. In disabilities we do not have strong enough laws to prosecute those who hurt our disability children or even let them die. Merna Aprem the young autistic 19years old who drowned in Afford disabilities care whose mother has seen no justice and is paralysed with grief why? Something must be done for her and for others we need the laws changed...
Those who play the Judas against our children, from the workers to the CEOs of disability organizations, to continue to get their money and allow the innocent to be harmed and even die in care should pay a price and be punished for it. No one gets away anything in this life, eventually it comes to light, what is done in secret…and maybe they have seared consciences and justify their lies or their actions, but we need to catch them. If workers want to lie and cover up and not be witnesses, to the harm they see done to our children then we need the cctv cameras to be made mandatory in disabilities and be hard evidence and witnesses to stop those who would harm our vulnerable disability young and adults.
The providers interest is none other than to make money out of our children and they have no hearts when it comes to money good ethics are corrupted. We need the CCTV cameras made mandatory in disabilities at least in the public areas or care and programs, to protect our young now and in their futures, if they cant speak are non verbal then we need them even more…they cannot defend themselves we must protect them since ndis has badly failed to.
