On February 29, 2024, Cody Roberts of Pinedale, Wyoming chased down a wolf on his snowmobile. He intentionally ran over the animal, severely injuring but not killing it. The following day he took the still living creature to a local bar to show her off as some sort of trophy. Pictures from March 1st show the wolf with red tape tightly wound around her muzzle, head bowed in pain and fear as Roberts kneels beside him. After this cruel spectacle, he drug her out behind the bar and shot her.

Predator animals such as wolves and coyotes are subjected to similar abuse in Wyoming due to current laws that allow such acts for sport. These animals are chased until they reach exhaustion before being run over by a snow machine or shot  dead. In fact, this is often an organized public event where people get together for a weekend animal hunt on their snowmobiles. 

We cannot stand by while these majestic creatures endure such torment at human hands. We must demand that the Wyoming Legislature change existing laws and implement stricter regulations against animal cruelty towards predator species like wolves and coyotes. As well, Cody Roberts deserves every possible punishment for this disgusting crime against a living creature.
