As someone deeply invested in the integrity of Canada's democracy, I feel an urgent need to enhance transparency in our political system. The crux of the issue is that Canadians, like myself, have little insight into who among our elected officials and peers may be involved in foreign interference, which can significantly influence our policies and election outcomes. We deserve to know who is backed by foreign entities in order to make informed voting decisions.

The urgency to address this issue stems from the fact that approximately 50% of all countries experience some form of foreign electoral intervention. Such interference can distort democratic processes and skew the representation of the people's will (Source: Journal of Peace Research, 2016). The lack of transparency only exacerbates this issue, making it harder for Canadians to make well-informed decisions at the polls.

The upcoming 2025 elections make this transparency all the more pertinent. We, the people of Canada, seek that the Government of Canada takes pre-emptive action by releasing all names of Members of Parliament, and other Canadians, involved in foreign interference before the next election is called. This renovation in political transparency will not only fortify our faith in the democratic system but also ensure that our voices are heard, and our votes count in directing the course of our nation.

We are well aware that foreign interference and transnational repression are serious concerns of many Canadians and yet we still await to know the names of our elected members of parliament and staffers whom have been a party to these actions.
