Like thousands of workers across the city, I rely on our bus services for daily commute. However, chronic delays have become an unfortunate reality and I, like many others, have suffered the consequences of tardiness at work because the buses do not arrive on time.

Routine lateness is inexcusable. Despite multiple promises for improvement, the problem persists, and it has been almost 6 months without any visible changes. This widespread issue points towards a systemic problem in the management of this public service, suggesting that the Director of Operations has not been doing their job effectively.

According to the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) (2015), a quality public transportation system is crucial for maintaining the productivity and pace of a city. It holds that a well-managed public bus service can increase the punctuality and efficiency of the working population by 30%.

In light of this, we call upon the relevant authorities to consider two steps: First, enforce regulations to ensure that the bus services run on schedule. Secondly, review the performance of the Director of Operations, who has failed to rectify consistent tardiness for half a year.
