Mandate the immediate re-designation of Dr. Thomas B. Faulkner, AME
The Issue
In an unexpected and unjust turn of events, I, Thomas B. Faulkner, MD, was de-designated from my position as a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) and HIMS-Trained AME/IMS by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) with no prior warning or clear justification. This action has severely impacted my professional standing and undermines the trust placed in objective and just administrative reviews.
For years, I served diligently, ensuring the highest standards of aviation safety and medical examination, upholding my responsibilities with the utmost integrity. The decision to strip my designation was made without providing me an opportunity to understand or contest the specific allegations against me. No concrete evidence was presented, nor was I granted the opportunity to confront the accuser(s). This lack of due process is not only unfair but detrimental to the integrity of the FAA's own systems.
