In today's digital era, paying for products or services should only be unsafe if done with physical cash. Digital payments, including banking transfers, can be tracked, all digital transactions should be secured by the banks themselves. 

According to a report from UK Finance, in 2020 alone, total losses due to authorized push payment scams amounted to £479 million, a substantial increase from the previous year. This alarming statistic underscores the urgency of our demand.

The banking industry could—and should—do more to protect us, their customers. The system as we know it has failed us, and improvements must be made to ensure that hard-working citizens are not robbed of their hard-earned money. Safeguarding digital transactions should not merely be regarded as an option but a necessity in the modern world.
