Mandate Surveillance Cameras at Billingsley Apartment Communities in Austin Ranch

The Issue

I am a resident of The Colony, TX, living in The Hudson, The Boathouse, or Thousand Oaks apartment communities. Over the past few months, we have experienced an alarming increase in crime within our communities. This has left many residents, including myself, feeling unsafe and anxious within our own homes.

The lack of surveillance cameras at crucial points such as entrances, parking garages, stairwells and other public areas is a significant concern, especially when there are signs stating the area is surveilled by cameras where none actually exist. These are areas where criminal activities can easily occur unnoticed and unrecorded. This lack of security measures not only enables crime but also fails to provide any substantial evidence when crimes do occur. All victims deserve justice.

According to the U.S Bureau of Justice Statistics report on Surveillance Camera Use by Local Police Departments (2013), it was found that surveillance systems were associated with reduced crime rates. It's time we bring this effective deterrent into our communities to help ensure safety for all residents.

We urge the management of The Hudson, The Boathouse, and Thousand Oaks apartment communities to install surveillance cameras at all entrances, parking garages, stairwells and other public areas immediately. By doing so they would be taking a proactive step towards deterring criminals from targeting our homes while providing residents with much-needed peace of mind.

Please sign this petition if you agree that safety should be a top priority for all residents living in these luxury apartment communities.
