"On Tuesday, Nov 21, 2023, at 4:34 am, it started like a normal day. It turned out to become a day that marked a lot of people's lives. The unexpected came into our lives; Raymond, our son, brother, uncle, and cousin had an accident that took his life. Throughout these days after the accident, I realize how many people Raymond impacted while he was alive. I can see family, friends, coworkers – how his love was spread out to everybody. We are still living in a dream that we don't want to wake up from, but one thing is for sure: we are never going to forget his smile or the love he gave and the way he saw the good in people, his positive attitude towards everything and anything and anybody. He showed us that part of life that many of us couldn't see, but he did. He saw beauty where there was ugliness; he saw calmness while there was chaos; he saw forgiveness when there was hate. Raymond, my son, we will miss you. That's what your life has shown us, and we are never going to forget until we see each other again. I share our story because I want to see if I can start a petition with signatures for a change. It is too dark on our roads here in harmony; this is no longer a country road; it has become residential. I don't want another parent to lose their family because of this. I'm tired of seeing flowers placed on the side of the on 192, where it was my son who was killed by the semi-truck making an illegal U-turn; he never had a chance. We need lights; we need to make a change. I can't bear for another parent to endure this kind of pain that our family had to face. Please, neighbors, let's stand together and save another life from this kind of tragedy."
