I am writing from a place of deep concern and personal connection. In Pangasinan, Philippines, where I reside, there is an alarming number of animals that are not being treated with the respect and care they deserve. This issue is close to my heart as I witness the neglect and mistreatment these innocent creatures endure daily.

Animals, like humans, have the right to live a peaceful life. They should be treated with kindness, respect, and dignity at all times. Yet sadly this is far from reality in many parts of our region.

According to data from the Animal Welfare Institute (AWI), instances of animal cruelty are on the rise globally. While exact figures for Pangasinan are hard to come by due to underreporting, anecdotal evidence suggests we are not immune from this trend.

This petition seeks legislation that mandates respectful treatment for all animals in Pangasinan – a law that ensures their rights to live peacefully without fear or harm.
