Mandate Recognition of and Provide US Army Ranks of Sergeant to Straight, Inc. Graduates

The Issue

As an alumnus and a deeply concerned citizen, I am calling attention to the overlooked Graduates / Alumni of the U.S. Government funded program Straight, Incorporated. This program was built and managed by U.S. Army Veteran Melvin Sembler and sponsored and promoted by another Army veteran George Bush Sr., as part of their government campaign, the U.S. 'War Against Drugs'. The staff of Straight, Inc. implemented and used U.S. Army military tactics and Army boot camp training / modalities to train its clients who became graduates.

The rigorous training we underwent was taken from the training Melvin Sembler and George Bush, Sr. learned in and during the U.S. Army, and is comparable to that experienced by acting soldiers in the Army - a fact that has been largely ignored until now. It is time we recognize this truth and provide all Straight, Inc. Graduates with their due respect.

Therefore, we demand that all Commenced Graduates / Alumni from Straight, Incorporated be granted recognition equivalent to the rank of Sergeant with full Veteran Status in the U.S. Army - a testament to our resilience, strength, and dedication and Graduation to Alumni.

In 2021, The Dept of Justice's National Human Trafficking Hotline determined, in NHTH Case # 667154, that Straight, Inc. clients were forced to perform human trafficked labor (and other acts) at Straight, Inc., an Army Veteran implement and managed, and federal government funded and sponsored program and corporation. Many of those clients went on to Graduate, with no formal accredited recognition, Straight, Inc.

Furthermore, because of the highly intense, sometimes violent, focused Army Boot Camp training clients of Straight, Incorporated were forced to receive and partake in daily for years while imprisoned at Straight, Inc. warehouses and buildings, we demand that all negative public records against Straight, Inc. Graduates be removed, deleted and rescinded permanently for our service and time to the U.S., states, and plural public and many, many families we served during the U.S. War Against Drugs. For example, any military record deemed by a Graduate to be negative against him or her should be removed and fully deleted permanently, immediately.

The very same as Military Personnel and Veterans are allowed by universities and the Dept of Education to turn their prior military service into accredited, college credit hours, the Straight, Inc. Alumni demand, must, and should rightfully be allowed immediately to turn their Child Soldier and Military Work Service for US Army Military Veterans (Sembler, Bush, Sr.) for the US Dept of Justice, States HRS / DCF Depts, and for and under a USA Declared War, into full, acknowledge Army Rank and full Veteran Status.

This recognition will honor our past and pave way for future generations to achieve standard and lawfully common justice and advocacy for labor performed and to know that our federal government listens to its people.

We urge you to sign this petition so that our voices can be heard loud and clear at every level of government – it's time for change!
