The Issue

I am a student in Madison, IN, USA who is deeply affected by the lack of outdoor time at our school. The need to be outside and socialize is not just personal to me but also crucial for the overall well-being of all students. Our mental and physical health can significantly improve with regular exposure to nature and fresh air. However, our old math teacher will not let us go outside when other classes are allowed to.

Research has shown that children who spend more time outdoors have better concentration and are more creative in their problem-solving skills (American Academy of Pediatrics). Additionally, outdoor play can help reduce stress levels among children while promoting physical fitness (National Wildlife Federation).

Our request is simple - we want at least one hour dedicated to outside time during school hours. This change will not only benefit us students but also contribute towards creating a healthier learning environment.

Please sign this petition to support the call for mandatory outdoor time in schools. Your signature could make a significant difference in improving student life here in Madison, IN.
