We are calling on lawmakers in the United States to mandate that all employers grant their employees one paid mental health day per month. Such a policy would provide individuals with an opportunity they might not otherwise have - the chance to prioritize their mental well-being without fear or guilt.

According to Mental Health America (2021), over 44 million American adults experience some form of mental illness each year but many do not seek help due to lack of resources or stigma associated with taking time off work for self-care.

By implementing this policy nationwide we can contribute towards creating a mentally healthier workforce and society at large while acknowledging that everyone deserves access and time dedicated towards maintaining their mental wellness.
