As a concerned citizen, I am deeply troubled by the increasing number of missing children in the UK. This issue is personal to me because I believe that as humans of sound mind, we should care about our future - a future that these missing children are an integral part of.

Every year, approximately 112,853 children are reported missing in the United Kingdom (National Crime Agency). However, this alarming statistic often goes unnoticed by many due to lack of consistent coverage on news platforms.

This petition seeks to require all UK news programmes to start and end with a reminder of these statistics and provide directions to current information on the matter. By doing so, we can increase public awareness and potentially aid in locating these missing children.

We urge Ofcom - The Office of Communications - who regulate broadcasting in the UK, to enforce this requirement for all news programmes. Let's ensure our media platforms serve not just as sources for daily updates but also as tools for societal improvement.
