We demand that the Ohio State Legislature pass a law requiring either life imprisonment without parole or the death penalty for any adult convicted of a violent sex crime against a child—when supported by clear evidence such as DNA, video/audio recordings, eyewitness testimony and confession. These crimes cause irreversible harm. The justice system must reflect the lifelong impact on survivors.

Sexual violence against children is a lifelong sentence for survivors. The trauma doesn’t fade—it shapes every aspect of their lives. Yet our justice system often allows perpetrators to walk free after serving minimal time or accepting plea deals that reduce charges.

This must end.

- Severe sentencing for confirmed offenders: life without parole or death penalty. 

- A ban on plea deals that reduce charges for child sex crimes. This is very important.

- Sentencing guidelines that reflect the lifelong impact on survivors. It doesn't right now.
