The Kurdistan Region, an autonomous region in Iraq, is a place of rich culture, deep history, and a vibrant society primarily speaking the Kurdish language. Every year, thousands of expatriates move here for work, education, and to build a life. However, many of these expatriates face significant language barriers that hinder their ability to fully integrate into the society and contribute to the region's development.

By making Kurdish language classes mandatory for expatriates living and working in Kurdistan, we can help bridge the gap between local citizens and expatriates, fostering mutual respect and understanding.

Currently, many expatriates find themselves unable to effectively communicate with their Kurdish colleagues, neighbors, and local communities, leading to social isolation and missed professional opportunities. Introducing mandatory Kurdish language classes would alleviate these issues, ensuring that expatriates are equipped with the necessary linguistic tools to thrive in Kurdistan.

Such a policy would not only promote cultural integration but also benefit the region’s economy. A workforce proficient in the local language is far more effective, as it enhances cooperation and productivity within various sectors such as education, healthcare, business, and social services.

We propose establishing comprehensive language programs that are accessible and affordable for all expatriates. The Government of Kurdistan, in collaboration with educational institutions and language experts, can develop structured curricula tailored to adults, encompassing all proficiency levels from beginner to advanced.

By implementing this policy, Kurdistan can set an example for regions worldwide, demonstrating its dedication to inclusivity, diversity, and cultural richness.
