My dog Stella, a gentle soul who wouldn't harm a fly, was brutally beaten by my neighbors. They lured her out of the yard, assaulted her with beer bottles and other objects, then tied her to a tree so tightly that I had to cut the rope. Stella was forever changed by this horrific act of violence. Once curious and friendly towards people, she is now terrified due to this traumatic experience.

This story isn't unique; animal abuse is an alarming issue across our nation. According to the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), nearly 1 million animals are abused or killed each year in incidents of domestic violence alone. Yet despite these staggering numbers, many abusers walk free on bail within hours of their arrest.

We demand justice for Stella and all victims of animal abuse. We call upon our lawmakers to enact legislation mandating jail time for convicted animal abusers and prohibiting them from being released on bond. This will ensure that these individuals face appropriate consequences for their actions while preventing further harm to innocent animals.
